(More customer reviews)We bought our LG french-door style refrigerator in July 2006 from Home Depot. At the time, Consumer Reports RAVED about this model. I'm not sure how they base their ratings, considering we have had nothing but problems. I think we made it to about the year-and-a-half mark when we started experiencing strange noises coming from the freezer drawer. After a service call or two (third party LG contractor), it appeared to be the freezer fan making the noise because of ice forming on the fan. The first service call was comprised of the technician "melting" the ice with a steamer. The second call was comprised of the technician changing a logic board. The service cost us about $375 parts/labor. Around that same time, we started having issues with the ice maker. Sometimes it makes ice, sometimes it makes nada. Sometimes we'll open the ice compartment and ice has gone up and over the drawer. Sometimes the ice maker is completely empty. Trust me when I say forget this BOAT ANCHOR. You will thank me. Oh, and Consumer Reports bites too.
